CDOM has two community centers in the Kanawha Valley. Avesta Drive Community Center is located in Jefferson between South Charleston and St. Albans.  Coal Branch Heights Community Center is right beside St. Stephens UMC on Twilight Drive in Charleston.

Both centers have afternoon hours M-F and provide great programs for school age youth. The children receive help with homework, a snack and then get to play games, play on the playground or use the computers.  The centers also throw parties throughout the year, as well as have parties sponsored by church and civic groups. 

Avesta hosts work teams from all over the country during the summer.  At Avesta Drive Community Center we use those teams to fix up some homes in the area through our Housing Rehabilitation Program.

Through your generosity, we provide backpacks to the center youth that are loaded with school supplies at the beginning of the year. We make sure they all have Christmas presents, and hand out new undies all year round!

·Volunteers and Homework Helpers.  We have a strict two-adult-rule at our community centers.  You could volunteer one day a month or be on standby to fill in.
